All she wanted was to be left alone with Dragon, her sentient alien spaceship/best friend, free to travel Sol System and sell her ‘magic’ charms bioengineered out of alien goo to suckers at random space markets.

Mona came and went. Here for the fair, and then gone. Maybe she’d have time for a drink or a date with someone who knew the rules—

She was living her best life, free and happy. No history to make things ugly. No responsibility. Just fun.
